Overview Sojourn® is a database transaction tracker for the AS/400 and IBM iSeries (OS/400). It tracks changes to OS/400 database fields by access to the OS/400 Journal files for that database.

Coverage Sojourn® can hold information on any database file that it is asked to track so long as the file has been journalled.

OS/400 Sojourn® operates within the OS/400 environment at version 4.4 upwards. It requires a library, BGSJ, with approximately 30MB of disk space. It also uses a variable amount of storage for its log files - depending on the number of files to be tracked and their frequency of data change. Unlike the journal file however, only the bit level changes are stored. The operation, presentation and reporting can all take place from a standard OS/400 screen.

Windows Sojourn® includes an optional Windows based presentation module for more attractive display.

The following are the minimum requirements to run the PC module:

OS 32-bit Windows (such as Windows 9x/NT® or later) along with, for TCP/IP transport, the appropriate TCP/IP protocol stack, Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC).
CPU Intel Pentium® II processor (or equivalent)
Video Super VGA, 16 colors, 800*600 resolution (preferably)
Memory 64 Mb RAM, approx 5 Mb free hard drive space for PC module, variable space for AS/400 application structures stored locally on the pc. This is likely to be in the region of 1 or 2 Mb.
PC to AS/400 link
Client Access ODBC driver (32-bit) version 6.00.xx upwards.
